ethiopia shantagolba - light roast natural process
We taste red grape, pomegranate, and caramel in this natural process coffee from the Sidama region in Ethiopia. Coffee like this allows us to begin to understand the diversity and nuance of coffee, even within the confines of a single country. It is becoming more difficult to identify what we can expect, which affords us opportunities for great conversations around the landscape and complexity of coffee.
Ardent Coffee Export is Unravel’s co-production partner, led by Ashenafi Argaw. Ashenafi lobbies for the farmers, making sure they get paid fairly for their coffee cherries. Ardent has constructed 2.8 kilometers of roads and built an elementary school in the ShantaGolba community. Additionally, they train their farmers in agronomy and cherry harvesting.
