rwanda mwito - light roast natural process

from $22.50

We taste apricot, golden raisin, and red currant in this natural process coffee from Nyamasheke district in the Western Province of Rwanda. Naturally processed coffees may be trending in the specialty coffee industry right now, but we have enjoyed this process for years. We often experience these coffees as brilliantly fruity and majestically bright. It seems novel that coffee could have this type of expression, especially if you have just entered the crazy and beautiful world of specialty coffee. But this process has been around for a while, especially in places where there is a lack of water. Many of you believe naturally processed coffee is superior to washed, or maybe even honey, but we see it as a facet of coffee. It demonstrates a unique aspect of coffee, but it is an incomplete picture of the beauty and nuance that exists in this world. We invite you to enjoy this particular expression of Rwandan coffee.

Falcon Coffees

This coffee was sourced through Falcon North America. It is the belief of Falcon Coffees that “coffee provides us all with a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainable smallholder agriculture”. Great socio-economic change can happen through improving the quality of coffee. When coffee quality increases, farmers receive premium prices, which is then reinvested into producing better crops. And when farmers are paid well, this will encourage better social and environmental practices.

Our mission and values at Bridge City inform every decision that we make in the coffee industry. Bridge City will not commoditize people along the supply chain, and Falcon Coffees gives us the confidence we need to move forward with green buying.
