relational sourcing
Our partner farms are intentional with every aspect of growing and processing their beans. They make sure we only receive the best raw green beans. Thus, we want to respect their time and energy by roasting the best coffee possible.
We can only do that through having a relationship with our farmers. They give us incredibly helpful input for roasting and motivate us to produce great coffee with every bag; from our Bridge City staples to our experimental seasonals.
We use an approach called relational sourcing, which goes beyond just purchasing a commodity from a supplier. It is accomplished by getting to know the farmers and letting them educate us on how we can best partner with them based on their unique needs and desires. We let them teach us what is best. We learned about this model from Queen City Coffee in Denver, CO and are incredibly grateful to have that connection with a handful of farms.
We are honored to work closely with many amazing farming communities around the world, ensuring that we know where our coffee comes from and that the farmers are getting fair wages for their work. While transparency is a standard with anybody we source from, we also go much deeper than that with our partner farms. Our unique relationship allows for things like visiting the farms our coffee is grown on and personally meeting the farmers themselves.
